Medicine & Health Education at UNSW

The mission of UNSW Medicine & Health is to provide a quality education within a community of learning and discovery. We believe that education is a continuous lifelong process that reaches beyond our students’ time at university. UNSW Medicine & Health supports and improves learning and teaching within the Faculty and is committed to encouraging innovation based on international best practice and evidence in learning and teaching in Medicine and Higher Education.

UNSW Medicine & Health has one Vice Dean and one Associate Dean responsible for learning and teaching in the areas of Education, Postgraduate Coursework and Research. In addition there is the Medical Education interest group. This group meets regularly during the year for a seminar series on scholarship and research in learning and teaching. The group publishes a regular newsletter and holds an annual learning and teaching forum in December. This group aims to:

  • Lead in the development and evaluation of the faculty curricula design and implementation
  • Support our teaching staff in their own learning about learning and teaching and provide leadership and support in the scholarship of teaching and learning
  • Lead and support teaching innovation and educational research.

For all enquiries about the Medical Education interest group, please contact Dr Linda Ferrington.
