Professor Gill Rowlands’ research focuses on health inequalities, health literacy and the pathways through which social disadvantage impacts on health and illness. Professor Rowlands will be talking about how and why GPs and nurses should improve their health literacy practice, and will describe her current work to develop an intervention to improve GP knowledge and communication through health literacy training and the use of medical health record prompts.
