Seminar presented visiting academic Professor Boguslaw Tomanek from the Department of Oncology, University of Alberta in Canada on “Merging Diagnosis with Personalized Treatment”.
Professor Tomanek will present his research on functional spinal and brain MRI, molecular MRI, MR elastography as well as image guided therapy.
Professor Tomanek was a director of the Institute for Biodiagnostics (West), National Research Council of Canada, Calgary, Canada for over 20 years. He led several research teams to create the first intraoperative MRI system with a movable magnet, discovered a new mechanism of fMRI and developed gradient-free MRI. In 2014 he joined the University of Alberta to work on image-guided radiotherapy systems. Dr. Tomanek has published over 130 scientific papers and 13 book chapters. He is a recipient of several achievement awards. His current area of interest is merging diagnosis with therapy.
