SOMS is hosting a delegation from the Faculty of Medicine at Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) in Bangkok who are seeking opportunities for research collaborations, and particularly seeking potential collaborative projects for their PhD and MSc students in Biomedical Sciences. This may present opportunities to engage further with our SE Asian neighbours, help build their research capacity, and perhaps develop beneficial collaborations. There could be particular opportunities for ECRs / MCRs in SOMS to establish or extend international collaborations and get opportunities for co-supervision or have SWU students and staff spend research periods in their labs.
I attach a draft schedule for the day, and a brief description of the delegates research and interests. Please come along to LG02 in the morning to hear about SWU and an overview of their Biomedical post grad program and some of the research projects underway. There is also an opportunity for one or two mini-presentations from UNSW in the morning session if you feel you’ve got some collaborative project in mind that may be suitable for them. There are also opportunities to meet the delegates and show them your research area.
