Challenges in the Australian Innovation Landscape for Synthetic Biology

Event date:
22 August 2018 - 5:00pm
Location:
Civil Engineering Building 101, UNSW Kensington
Booking deadline:

Synthetic biology is one of the most exciting areas of science at the moment, and has gotten a lot of air time with CRISPR recently.

Meet with industry and academic experts on synthetic biology and biotech development in Australia as they discuss what factors are providing the greatest challenges for synthetic biology research and products, and how we might go about solving them.

Also, three undergraduate competition teams will be presenting their current research in preparation for competition later in the year - so come be inspired by all of the exciting work being done along the research pipeline!

The night will finish up with space for networking, and refreshments. There will be a particular focus on the commercialisation and regulatory challenges that synthetic biology faces.

The main content of the night will be delivered by panel discussion, with time for Q&A at the conclusion of the panel.
